Nothing refreshed the spirit like a good night's rest. The team woke up today feeling energetic and blessed by the praise and worship choruses from a church nearby. By the time I was having my breakfast, they were out in the morning sun helping to break camp as we awaited the arrival of the Bomet County Secretary, Mr. Kilelson, who would be flagging us off on behalf of the Governor.
Bomet County people have been more than generous to the team. We had out water tanks refilled at the County's water supply point before we were escorted out in a jolly march down the hill. Our flag off team stayed on for a kilometer before they bid us farewell. They had organised for the ward administrator in Mulot area to find us accomodation as Mulot is a really tiny area with minimal options for camping.
The County is hilly all around and today's walk is comprising of uphills and downhills that are challenging my calves and Thomas's knees. Philip and Peter setting up an intimidating pace but I am determined to keep up. We are all joking around that Bomet County has gifted us when we are joined by a young lady who decides to stick with us for the walk till we get to our next station which is Mulot.
I am determined to walk at least 10km today, so bring it on Philip and Peter. However punishing the pace gets, I intend to hang on. Despite the bright sun, the hilly terrain provides a cooling breeze that makes the walk bearable. I am taking note of how these guys have gotten used to the walking. The complaints of pain are fewer and Daniel no longer drags behind. The sick babies at home are recovering well and the team is more focused on the task at hand.
I am proud to say I have walked 11km today!!! I was knocked out by the long uphill just before Longisa town  but I am feeling exhilated! I believe if I keep this up, I should make to 20km in a day by the time we get to Mombasa.
It is a peaceful Sunday and my prayer is that we shall continue to touch well wishers, friends, corporates and all Kenyans to contribute to this campaign. We are very far from our target but we have hope that this will change. Today Daniel was telling me how people back at home thought he was crazy when he told them of his intention to talk 1000km. I want so badly to have him prove them wrong when nis walking bears fruit and he can enjoy the satisfaction of knowing he saved a woman's life.
